Hi every one I am at mike's house for Christmas with all
the kids, except Jenny, she is in north Carolina still. here

collage on Jan 20th majoring in psychology, mike is going to
school there now and I will have the same English teacher
next semester that he has now.

Right now they are watching the Lion King. It's great having them here. The missionaries bring a great spirit into our home. HEY MOM AND DAD!

How are you guys? I'm doing great at the MTC, I love it! Its not as tough as people make it out to be I don't know what everyone is complaing about or why they would chose to go home? Everyday I wake up around 6:10-6:30 get ready and then go to personal study with my compainion at our classroom at 7am. At 7:45 we eat breakfeast then go back to classes. I spend most of the day in our classroom, probably about 10 hours or so? Maybe more? 5 of those hours are taken up by 2 different teachers. I love my teachers! They are way cool! Hermano Pope is the best teacher ever! He makes it sound as if you can do anything if you put your mind to it and try hard enough! Not just in missionary work but in anything! My other teacher is Hermana Decena, she has a lot of great activities that help us not fall asleep and actually learn. All teachers here goto school at BYU so they're all pretty young. My companion is Hermana Daraias (Dar-AY-US) I think I told you this but she's from Pleasant Grove, by her name it sounds as if she is Hispanic but she's completly white haha She's super cool. She was a cheerleader and a dancer in Highschool and loves a lot of the same things I do! We even have the same squishy brush! How random is that? Last Friday they transfered me from beginning spanish to an intermediate spanish class so now I'm not in the same district. Luckily I didn't have to change rooms, but hermana daraias moved into my room since she was a solo sister before I came. For the first couple of days she was having a really hard time being here and didn't know if she should go home or not. She wanted to be here but she has a history of panic attacks in her family and so at first she couldn't sleep at all, then eventually she started sleeping 3-4 hours at night and last night she slept all night! I'm glad! It's hard to focus on things when you know your companion isn't having the best time. But she's doing awesome now and I don't think she'll be going home at all.
Learning spanish is awesome! I love it! I keep learnign more adn more of it (or at least remembering what I had learned from highschool). This last week I learned my purpose as a missionary, its on the first page of Preach MY Gospel "To invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in JEsus Christ adn His Atonement, repentence, baptisim, recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost, and endure to the end." I recite that to myself at night so I can fall asleep, it also helps me remember it! Side note; falling asleep at night is weird! I get so tired an hour before we are able to go back to our residence halls and I can picture myself falling right to sleep but then I get in bed adn it takes me 15-30 mins to fall asleep, and I don't feel exhausted anymore! Kind of weird. I have also started memorizing the first vision in JSH 16 & 17, D and C section 4. This week I need to learn them all in spanish. I have also almost memorized the first lesson and how to teach it! Its hard to make it sound good and not wierd or forget anything. The hardest part is to remember that I'm supposed to teach it to someone who has never heard the gospel before and doesnt' know the church terms. I like the Elders in my new distric! They are super awesome and way funny! My disctric leader was the one who actually sat in front of us for orientation when you were there.
Ok a couple of serious notes for you guys! There is this amazing site called DearElder.com PLEASE USE IT! You can write me a letter and it will get mailed to me the same day! You write it online and then it prints off here! PS, I still haven't gotten anyletters from you! I got my first letter here yesterday from Sally! She wins! THANK YOU SALLY it really made my day! But anybody can use DearElder.com and its free! I would love to get letters from everyone! And as much as you would like! Just write me anything! Or whats going on! Oh ya, my P-days are Tuesdays! So I'll most likely write you letters then, I can only email then too. But write me letters and email because then I can keep in contact with you all week! And my comp gets 50 letters a day! haha Other than that I'm doing awesome and I love it here! Tell everyone this email! Its BAM@myldsmail.com And I only have 30 mins to email so I'll probably only write one mass email and you can send it to everyone or post it on my BLOG.

Eves Soccer Time

Yes, it is soccer time for the Eves' once again. This year Jason is on the Black Knights team, and Kaeley is on the Seahawks team. The kids are having a blast and doing very good work. They both prefer the defender position. Jason is honing his skills at stealing the ball and protecting the goal. He gets better every year. We are so proud of him and his accomplishments. He does a great job.

Kaeley is notorious for never backing down. If someone charges the goal, she charges them right back. She always kicks the ball away from them, and many times they end up on their little behind. (Not because she is kicking them, but because she stops them so abruptly!) The parents have taken to calling her "The brick wall". Nobody gets through. In saturday's game, one boy, the opposing team's star player charged the goal three times in a row, and Kaeley put him down 3 for 3, One mother told me he would think twice before trying that on Kaeley again, and sure enough, that ended that! She is becoming somewhat of a celebrity. She loves it!

Ryan and Sally's Update

Well we did go on our cruise to the Mexican Riviera and we had a great time! We appreciate Anita and Mom watching our kids!!! They had a great time with you all!!!
And we did have a great time! It was so relaxing!!! And we got to do a lot we snorkeled in Cabo and Played on the beach in Mazatlan and then we shopped in Puerto Villarta - well me and Ryan's Mom and sister did - while everyone else went on a Huge Zip line adventure! They were 400 feet above the jungle ground and zip lined from tree to tree. Ryan said it was one of the coolest things he's ever done!
On the boat we got to be lazy by the pool, do Kareoke, go to 2 movies (Get Smart and Hancock - I hadn't seen either of them) We also watch a fun game called Quest, it was like a scavenger hunt with teams and it got pretty crazy!! We actually adapted it for our Halloween party the other night - details later :) We danced at an 80's party, and went to "singin' with Cory" in a piano bar. It was so fun! It was nice because there is tons to do, but if you don't want to do anything you don't have to! I think we took a nap almost every day - we never get to do that at home so that was great too!
It was a great vacation from our stressful life! We needed it!

Mom's update

Hi Kids, I had a good week with Chris. He came last Saturday and left Friday morn about 4:30 am and got home at 2 pm. He helped me mow the lawns, rototille the garden and back area which didn't come back this year. He also helped me plant a Honey Crisp Apple tree. I now have 4 fruit trees. We went to a Chinese buffet in Richfield and ate toooo much. but it was good! Last Sunday he sang in our ward Sacrament meeting and was really good. We even went to the Sr Citizen potluck. He came over and ate at the Sr Center one day too. I'm sorry he had to leave, but he's already back to work.
I had taken care of Kate and Emily the last few days that Ryan and Sally were on their cruise. Also Danielle. They were all so good. I enjoyed it a lot. I'm glad they were able to go on the cruise, and that they had a great time and weather was good. Anita and Todd are now on their cruise to the Carabian. I sure hope the weather is good and that they have a wonderful time too.
I'm enjoying my work preparing meals for the Sr Citizens. Right now I have a cold which took me by surprise. It's down in my chest so I am trying to get rid of it.

Family Wall

We are all having a great time building a wall in our back yard. Jon and I both are major rock hounds and we love big rocks. Well Jon's obsession got the best of him and he has been building a rock wall in our back yard. I am posting some pictures from the summer at our quarry (a Friend has a ranch in the desert and lets us collect from an old dry riverbed). The boys have all developed strong muscles and learned the many engineering feats of an inclined plane, leveraging and teamwork (our favorite tools are the two dollies, the ramp, chisel and the steel pole). Thanks to Peter, Alex, Anna, Robby, Jared & David for all their help with it. Jake and Jordan even helped when they were in town (this has been a three year project, so far).
There used to be stairs coming down from the side of the house (Jon and the boys jack hammered them out, along with the rubble that was there when we bought the house). We are going to put curving rock stairs in their place, right behind the rock wall.
Jon built a seat for me in the rock wall, it is the most comfortable seat, it has an arm rest too. I am getting very excited. You may be able to see the split in the rocks on the ground just in front of the wall, that is where a fake river is starting and continuing out into the yard (see the picture with the Dolly). And we get to see the beautiful sunsets in the desert too.

Honey Candy, Family Nights

REMEMBER HONEY CANDY?

Last night for family Night we made HONEY CANDY! It took me back to my childhood the second i tasted it again! i was amazed! We had a lesson about following the "Recipe" in life and how our lives turn out better if we follow the proper directions. then we make the candy.

Here is the Recipe if you don't have it anymore.

Honey Candy from Grandma Zora

1 C Honey

2 C Sugar

1/4 C Water

Cook to hard crack stage. Pour on buttered plate, start folding up edges until you can pick it up then start pulling. it will harden as it cools! stretch it out to cool then crack it apart.

We all had SO much fun pulling the candy! we have never done that till now. Cameron and i saw an old fashion taffy puller on our trip and he said that was a fun family night they did once. I told him we used to make honey candy all the time and pull it for family night! so we decided to carry on that tradition. Try it with your kids!

Knudson's and Thier Crazy Wonderful Life

Hi family, we have had a fun start to school. Life is VERY BUSY but we still love you all and love to hear from you!

Our day starts at 5am when Cameron and I get up and go run/walk for 30 min. then we come home get ready I run off to seminary with Braden & Trevor while Cameron gets the other 4 kids ready for school. After seminary Cameron meets me at the church and we trade cars. He takes the 8 kids to high school on his way to work then I go back home and finish getting the others ready, do a quick change, then we head to school. I drop Dallin off first at Middle school; Then Adam and Macie off at ell. School. Then back home again with Daniel I go to finish getting ready for my work and to relax I have a whole hour and a half to me and Daniel. From 8am to 9:30 is the best time to reach me in the mornings. We head to drop Daniel off at 9:50 then I go to work as a PE teacher at the ell school my kids go to. I work from 10 till 2. it has worked out very nicely! I am outside all that time!

Then I wait 20 min for school to get out and start the pick up! I get Macie Daniel and Adam then we wait 30 min at the park across the street for Dallin to get out. Then we head home to start homework and dinner. Braden and Trevor are doing football and they finish about 6 pm. So Cameron picks them up on his way back home from work. Dinner is at 6:30 then on some nights we can relax a bit. Well not really a lot. Tuesday is youth nights so the boys all head to scouts at 7. Then everyone heads to bed between 8 and 9 pm. That is when I finish studying my seminary lesson for the next day. (If I didn’t get it all done during homework time). Usually not. Anyway I work on that till 10 pm and that is the ultimate latest I can stay up and still be able to get up in the morning the next day to do it all again!!!

Now that I have tortured you with all that craziness here is a few highlights for the month. Braden and Trevor’s football has been SO fun! They are doing so well this year! For Labor Day we went to Sacramento to Old Town Sacramento it is a definite must see! Then we headed to the state capitol and then to Sutters fort. All of this was in the name of SCOUTING! Braden and Trevor both had to visit these places for merit badges so we made it a family day. It was great! I will add a few pictures if I can.

Cameron and I are going to get away thanks to his work on the 10-13 of OCT we are flying to San Diego for the weekend we are so excited for the much needed break. We will tell you all about it next month! Adam will be 10 in a few weeks also! That means we have been here 10 years now! Wow time is sure flying by to fast!

Mom and her Beautiful Yard

Hi Kids, It really has been a while since we wrote. I'm enjoying my work at the Sr Center. We are getting lots of compliments on our meals. Hope we can get our count up for meals on wheels. I'm taking care of my yard and making it look really nice. I just don't want the leaves to start falling on my beautiful lawn. Right now my lawn mower is giving me trouble but I think Trent Taylor will come figure it out. My grass is getting really long. It starts every time then stops. Any one know what to do??? Let me know if you have an idea. It was spewing grass out the sides. It's a mulching mower. Self Propelled.

I put new base boards in the bathroom and they look great. I was going to buy new white vinyl lattice for the grape arbor but I need a double pane window in my living room more. It's 48 x52 I think. A friend is having Home Depot put all of theirs in, I'm hoping they can do one for me too at that time and not charge me a big delivery fee..

I had an Usborne book party for Sally last Saturday. Not too many people came but I still had a good sale afterwards. For you kids who could, thank you for ordering some. I hope you could handle it. They are such great books. When you come down I'll have new books for you to read. I even have some for baby showers.

Chris is planning to come to visit around the 18th of Oct. for a week. He has to take some vacation time before the end of the year. I'm looking forward to his visit. Maybe he can helpme with the lattice.

She is planning to enrole in school in socialogy. Pray LOTS for her. It's a struggle losing a child and trying to put her life back together again.

I just picked up a box at the PO that is to be used for our military men and women. It is 12'x12'x 6' deep. It costs $10 to send to Dan. So if you want to send him dvd's or other stuff do so. Sharon can tell us what he can use.

I am so blessed to have such a great family and a home I love. I pray for all of you, and put your names on the prayer roll when I go to the Manti Temple. Take care of your families, and give them all a HUG. It will make tons of stress go away for you and them. MOM

Dan Sharon and the Wild Weather

The Dan Eves family is doing great. We have been busy here with Hurricanes and now the big cleanup is extensive. We have been to Alexandria one weekend and help with the flooding areas to get wet things out of their houses and prepare to put dry sheetrock and cabnets and whatever else that needs to be replaced in their homes. They had no warning and there was 2 to 4 Feet of water that went into their homes. There were people who laost about everything in their homes. The weekend after that Nick and TJ went with our Stake for the weekend to Baton Rouge and helped with the cleanup there. They Did lots of tree cutting to remove trees from homes and that had fallen over. The helped at one place that the two owners had a tree fall on their house carport and car. one of the men got away when it fell but one got knocked out.. He then had a heart attack and that is what killed him. This last Sat we went to Houma a 4 hr drive and helped with the clean up there. Martin Luthur King the III called the Church and asked for assistance in these hard hit areas. There were over 1300 LDS members from all over who came to help out. That area had as much as 6 Ft of water. Lots of trees fell and wind blew parts of roofs off. We helped put tarps on roofs and cut trees down to haul away. After the water recided ther was a layer of sludge left. We also delivered ready meals and cleanup kits and water to the people we went to. We were able to hear their stories of the loss they have gone through. Several cemeteries were flooded and one of the ladies said that a casket had floated to her yard and landed there. We left our ward at 4 in the morning and drove 4 hrs. It was hard to not be able to have that time that we needed for travel in helping the people. There was so much more to be done. We will have many more weekends that we will be going to different areas and helping. I will attach some pictures that we took in Houma. Scott is training a new missionary that just got out. I received an e-mail from the missionaries mother. Pictured is attached also.He is loving his mission and it will be not too long that he will be home. Mid Jan he will return. Aubrie is working on getting her license back the month of Oct. Yea!! It has been 5 years now. Hopefully she will drive within the speed limit now. Charity will be coming to Louisiana for almost 2 weeks sometime at the end of Oct or first of Nov. She will help me out while I go through Surgery. We are excited she will be coming. TJ is doing great in football. They are undefeated. School is great too. Getting good grades. Nick is my helper here. He takes care of the cars. Keep them up and is doing some repairs on the green car. He is becoming quite a young man. I am very pleased with his taking the lead as priesthood holder here while Dan and Scott are gone. He has been working at the pool still and is helping a lot with the cleanups we are having. Sacrificing pay from work to help others. Dan is well and thanks to modern tech. we get to talk and see each other lots. We try to keep it down to a couple times a week. He will try to come the first part of Feb for a couple of weeks. The girls will try to fly out and Scott will be home so we are excited to be together again.
