OUR BELOVED FATHER

ARTHUR GLENN EVES JR.
10/27/33 – 6/15/08


Arthur Glenn Eves Jr. passed away Sunday, June 15th in Salt Lake City. He is now in the loving arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ and beloved mother, Zora Mae who died three years ago.
Arthur was born in Berkley, California on October 27, 1933 to Arthur Glenn and Zora mae Amtoft Eves. He attended Springville, Utah schools and graduated in 1952 from Springville High. He was on the state championship basketball team that year.
He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day
Saints n the Southern States Mission from 1953 to 1955. He met Carol Joan Wartena and they were married November 2, 1956 in the Los Angeles Temple. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany being honorably discharges after two years.
Arthur had a great love for singing with his beautiful tenor voice. He
sang in the Mormon tabernacle Choir from 1970 – 1972. He loved the scriptures and was often found in the early morning hours studying them.
His greatest treasure is his eternal family; his wife of 51 years, and
11 children: Daniel (Sharon), Beverly Strahan (Jon), Arthur Jay
(Leisa), Chris, Sarah Morrill (Mike), Robin Tarr, Anita Cripps (Todd),
Elizabeth Morrill (Rob), Rebecca Knudson (Cameron), David (Alexis),
Sally Whittaker (Ryan). Plus his amazing 55 grandchildren and four
great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, his mother and sister Beverly who died shortly after birth. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and five siblings: Maxine Weight (Grant), Wendell (Carol Jean), Carol Joy Schiess (D.J.), Paul (Joy), and Howard (Ann).
Art will be greatly missed by his friends and family but we know he is waiting for us in heaven saving ‘seats” until we all arrived and fill
them.

Our Big Brother Dan!!

News From Gunnison

Hay everyone, it just occured to me thaat we all need to supply eating gear-plates, cups, utensils. for the meal we prepare for the reunion. Isn't that right?
(or each family can make sure they have enough for their family for each meal that week - added by Sally)
We had a neat experience yesterday. The 145th Batallion from our area got home Thursday night. Yesterday they had a parade through Gunnison with the soldiers on the fire engins. Later that evening our neighbor envited us for a bbq honoring three of them, plus one of the boys brother who got home from his mission the same day. They showed slides of their stay in Iraq. They were guaarding the detainees in Buka where Dan is working in the hospital. In fact Neal said Dan will see lots of interesting situaations where the detainees beat up on each other and end up in the hospital.

I'm coming right along with my knee. I feel that I'll be ready for the reunion. I am so glad I did it when I did. Thanks kids for all you do for us. Please pray for Robin to be aable to build up her massage therapy business. I am so happy for her. She is really working hard to get it going.

How can we get new blog info at the top of our mail in bold print so we know that there is new info to read? I have to go looking for mine to see what's new. Same for Sally's family blog.
